Enjoy the stunning beach, athletics, and BBQ at the "Lovers' Sanctuary"! Have a great holiday date at SENNAN LONG PARK (Sennan Rinku Park)

Sennan City, located in the southern part of Osaka Prefecture, is a city blessed with the natural beauty of both the sea and the mountains. Its signature tourist spot, Sennan Marble Beach, has been certified as a lovers' sanctuary, and the stretch of coastline that continues from this beach to Tarui Southern Beach has been selected as one of Japan's 100 best sunsets. SENNAN LONG PARK* was built adjacent to these two beaches, stretching approximately 2km from north to south.

The site is home to athletic facilities, a skate park, glamping, a cafe, a BBQ, and a market selling local produce. It's a resort with a wide range of activities to enjoy, making it the perfect date spot.

This time, we had a Taiwanese-Japanese couple living in Osaka enjoy a day at SENNAN LONG PARK. This was their first time at an athletic facility, so they were in for a thrilling experience!

Enjoy thrills and spectacular views! Western Japan's largest four-story athletic facility

First, head to HEARTTHROB, an urban athletic facility that stands out even within the park.

This gigantic jungle, 15.5 meters high and consisting of four floors, is equipped with 111 elements. There is a wide variety of elements, from beginner-friendly to extremely difficult, such as the "Rinku Step" where you sway while moving forward over the letters "RINKU," the "Kayak in the Sky" where you get into a kayak on an unstable surface in the air, and the "Monkey Rope" where you cross a rope like a monkey.

The athletic experience costs 2,500 yen (tax included) for 60 minutes. Participants must be at least 125 cm tall (children under 12 and under 140 cm must be accompanied by an adult) and wear comfortable athletic shoes (gloves with good grip (available for purchase on-site) are also recommended). You can also enjoy the observation deck and the lowest floor, which overlook the beach and Kansai International Airport, for just 500 yen (tax included) for 60 minutes.

Nishibe said he was confident in his athletic ability, while Chang seemed a little nervous. After filling out the consent form and leaving their belongings in a locker, it was time to get started!

On Heartthrob, you will need to operate the safety belt yourself every time you move. Even beginners can feel at ease as they will receive a thorough lesson beforehand to help you practice. The belt is sturdy and can support up to 119 kg.

Each level has a course that is color-coded with red, blue, or yellow ropes according to difficulty, so you can challenge yourself at your own pace. This time, we challenged the 8m and 13m levels!

Nishibe showed off his incredible athleticism, even skateboarding through the air with confidence. His reliable performance seemed to inspire Chang.

A luxurious BBQ overlooking Rinku Beach

After the workout, it's time for the long-awaited lunch. We head to "THE BBQ BEACH in Marble Beach" in the community area. This is a luxurious space with sofas and gas grills, where you can enjoy a BBQ while looking out at the beach.

You can bring your own ingredients, or come empty-handed. The usage fee (including seating, equipment, and garbage collection) is 950 yen for adults on weekdays from December to February, and 1,400 yen for adults on weekends and holidays (and January 1st to 3rd).

There are a wide variety of meat sets available for purchase locally, including Australian sirloin and domestic pork spare ribs, but this time we chose the "Marble Seafood Set", which is packed with large pieces of seafood such as shrimp and turban shells.

By using the gas grills with lids that are installed individually, you can slowly grill the food while locking in the flavor and aroma.

Here too, Nishibe efficiently proceeds with the preparations.

By closing the lid on the gas grill, the smoke from the charcoal and fat from the ingredients will envelop the seafood, giving it a smoky flavor. Since I was starving, I started right away.

Both Chang and Nishibe looked happy and said, "I'm full."

Take a walk on the pure white long beach, covered with marble boulders!

After the meal, we took a stroll along the beach, heading from Tarui Southern Beach to Sennan Marble Beach.

Tarui Southern Beach is a popular swimming spot in the summer, but from autumn to winter the gentle breezes make it the perfect place for a leisurely stroll.

Further north, you'll find Sennan Marble Beach, a beach covered in pure white marble boulders. The contrast with the blue ocean is breathtaking.

The "Sea Marche" is held in this area on weekends and holidays (irregularly), and is a lively event with fresh fish from Okadaura Fishing Port and local specialties.

Take a photo at the heart monument that symbolizes this lovers' sanctuary!

One place couples will want to take photos of is the heart-shaped monument "Wishing Heart," which symbolizes the "Lovers' Sanctuary." Sennan Marble Beach was the first in Osaka Prefecture to be certified as a "Lovers' Sanctuary" in 2006, and in 2018, the heart-shaped monument was installed, standing out against the white beach.

The two of them took a commemorative photo here. The large heart-shaped stone surrounded by pure white stones is sure to be a photogenic spot.

While I was taking photos at this sacred place for lovers, the sun was setting in the blink of an eye. Watching the sun sink into the sea is a luxurious experience that can only be experienced at this place.

The approximate sunset time is 5:00 PM to 5:05 PM in winter (around January) (varies depending on the day), and 7:00 PM to 7:10 PM in summer (around July) (varies depending on the day). The time and direction change depending on the day, so we recommend checking in advance.

Located in the glamping area is the accommodation facility "URBAN CAMP HOTEL Marble Beach." All of the buildings are independent villas, each with a private patio equipped with a BBQ kitchen, dining area, living room, and even a jacuzzi. The biggest attraction is that you can enjoy the comfort of a hotel while also enjoying the openness of the outdoors.
